Hello, my name is Erica García and I am the proud Principal of Federal Heights Elementary-FHE!
I am currently beginning my 28th year in the field of education; my fifth as FHE's Principal. I have previously served as Director of Language, Culture and Equity; Assistant Principal, elementary and secondary level; English Language Acquisition Instructional Coach; and ESL and Science teacher in school districts in the Denver metro area.
I received my undergraduate degree from the Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2000. I obtained a Master’s degree in Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2007. In 2015, I earned my Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from the University of Denver.
Throughout my career in education I have focused my work on advocating for high-quality instruction for all students, including those from linguistically-diverse backgrounds. I have a passion for strong family and community involvement in education, which has highly contributed to my accomplishments as an instructional leader.
I am excited to return to some normalcy, and I am certain the 2021-22 school year will be a success. Our staff and I are confident that with your support, your student(s) will be able to reach their full academic potential.
I am looking forward to another successful school year with our FHE community!
Erica Garcia, Ph.D.
