Families and staff toast PEAK students’ success
Student smiling with a pancake in front of them

At the end of this past summer, the PEAK program at Federal Heights Elementary celebrated in a way that truly reflected the heart of community. The program director worked alongside parents of PEAK students to plan a surprise pancake breakfast as a way to recognize the students’ hard work and growth throughout the summer.

Families arrived early to prepare pancakes, decorate tables, and create a warm, festive atmosphere. When the students walked in, they were greeted with a joyful surprise—a breakfast made with care and appreciation. Students, families, and staff enjoyed food and fellowship together, highlighting the strong relationships built through the program.

This celebration was a wonderful example of collaboration and engagement, with families and staff working together to show students they are valued. It empowered students by honoring their efforts and focused on building connections that extend beyond academics. Most importantly, it showed care for both students and families by creating memories that will last well beyond the summer.

Special thanks to a Five Star employee who submitted on behalf of Federal Heights Elementary and the PEAK program for submitting this Five Star Story.
